I am pleased to write to you today and announce the appointment of Lorene Reagan to Bureau Chief of Developmental Services. Lorene is replacing Matthew Ertas who retired at the end of last year.
Lorene will be a familiar face to many of you, as she has a long history with BDS where she held a number of positions over the years. Initially she began as a Nurse Coordinator; then moved onto an Administrator for Child and Family Supports Services; and finally as an Administrator for Adult Supports and Services. Most recently Lorene has been working as a Care Management Manager for Well Sense Health Plan where she helped direct and manage the implementation of Well Sense’s Care Management Program here in New Hampshire.
Some of her recent professional accomplishments include being recognized as a Champion for Children in November of 2012 by the Council for Children and Adolescents with chronic health conditions; appointed member to the NH Council on Developmental Disabilities, March 2012-October 2012; and University of New Hampshire, Institute on Disability Leadership and Education in Autism Spectrum Disorders Fellowship, September 2010-June 2011.
Lorene has a proven record of outstanding supervisory, management and leadership skills. She has a long history of being able to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with a wide variety of stakeholder groups. We are very fortunate to have her back. Her knowledge and history of the BDS combined with the added perspective of working at an MCO will be vitally important as she will be assisting with the implementation of Step
2 of Medicaid Managed Care with the Developmentally Disabled population. I am certainly looking forward to working with Lorene in her new role with the Department. I hope you will join me in welcoming her back; she officially begins her new duties February 21st.
