Nursing home asks for delay in Medicaid long-term care program

OSSIPEE — Nursing home officials have asked the Governor and state Legislators to delay implementation of Phase II of the long-term care portion Medicaid Managed Care program.
In an update to the Carroll County Commission during its regular meeting on Sept. 10, Mountain View Community nursing and rehabilitation center Administrator Howie Chandler said nursing home affiliates across the state have asked for a delay until more is known about the rates and rules.
“Nothing has been decided about who is going to make the decisions. Right now, our only hope may be legislative relief,” said Chandler, adding that affiliates from county homes may join with the New Hampshire Health Care Association in pushing for a delay.
